Operational Competency – New to KPI’s

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) has a new extended version. An overall operational competence level for the service can be displayed in prime position on the top left of the home page. If a manager clicks on the indicator, the report will change to their level of command.

The indicator shows a metric that has calculated the overall number of people and core skills where people are in competence. E.g if 100 people had completed 8 out of 10 core skills the service would be 80% competence.

Use of the KPI system can further refine the operational competency figure by defining the core skills that will be used, so for instance only 3 or 4 core skills could be defined as calculating the number rather than all. This is a service wide setting.
